Raffia Hookeri known as "doka" in Akan is abundant in Ghana and its main use is for extraction of local wine. It yields many fibres including piassava fibre which was used as broom and has been abandoned in the advent of plastic brooms. Piassava fibre was used for experimental study as fibre reinforcement in concrete, and reported on workability, density, compressive strength, tensile strength and toughness of the concrete. The study used a basic concrete mix of 1:1.5:3, and 10 separate batches with percentage weight fraction of fibres...........

Wireless networks are been used now-a-days. The most paramount fact about wireless network is it is mobile. It is thus utilized in many fields. One of the most paramount applications of wireless networks is Mobile AdhocNETwork (MANET) in which that all the nodes work as both transmitter and receiver. MANETs are utilized in sundry fields like military, industry and emergency recuperation. So it is paramount to have a firsthand erudition about MANETs. But there is a certain drawback in MANETs, in which it becomes prone to malicious attacks very expeditious. To evade such attacks a good intrusion detection system is needed........

Software metrics are evolving successfully and are used to measure the object oriented properties such as size, complexity, cohesion and coupling of software code. In different organization, software metrics are applied to evaluating the internal code quality, productivity as well as maintainability of software. Software metric are calculated to detect bad smells in source code. In any program, bad smell or code smell demonstrates the debilitate architecture design of software that makes it rigid to maintain in the future. In this paper, static and dynamic metrics are discussed to detect a handful bad smells like long method, feature envy, large class, long parameter list, lazy class, data class etc.......

Theory of Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) was originated in The Netherlands in 1970. It was developed from Freudenthal' point of view which considered mathematics as human activity. This theory suggested that teaching mathematics should begin with realistic context; the teacher guides his students to reinvent knowledge by process of mathematization. In this paper, we present our research results obtained from application of RME into try-out of teaching linear function in Vietnamese schools

Water samples were collected from Bhadra river along four different significant points and analyzed various temperature correlated parameters during the period rainy season 5th july, 2014 to 22nd august, 2014 using standard method. Water samples were collected from about10 cm depth with three replications from each station during low tides and high tides of the day. The study was conducted to know the present status of the water quality of the Bhadra river and the change of water quality parameters with the change of temperature. The study is significant due to huge practice of aquaculture at the adjacent area using the river water. A corrosive medium is typically found in the working environment of a wire rope. The wire rope structure has certain characteristics such as complex details, high working stress, and extremely difficult control. Thus, corrosion is the key problem related to the use of wire ropes. The corrosion behaviors of strands extracted from wire rope of type 19x7 in acid medium was investigated in this paper. The results obtained from tensile tests on virgin and corroded specimens show a decrease in strength as function of immersion hours. This progressive decrease of strength allowed us to quantify the damage. Thereafter, and with the establishment of the Damage-Reliability relationship, three stages of damage are distinguished and the value of the critical life fraction is identified (βC = 0.62).

The performance of two varieties of Bamboo activated carbon (CABC washed and CABC unwashed), produced by chemical activation with ZnCl2, was evaluated through batch adsorption studies for the removal of Cadmium from aqueous solution. The effects of adsorbent dose, initial concentration of cadmium, agitation time, adsorbate p and, particle size were used as variables to obtain the optimum conditions for the removal of cadmium. Results obtained revealed that as the adsorbent dose increased, the amount adsorbed per unit mass decreased indicating that more active sites were utilized at smaller adsorbent dose........

Soil samples from twelve different abattoir locations within Port Harcourt metropolis labeled ABP1 to ABP12 were analyzed for possible contamination of physicochemical and heavy metal parameters. Theywere equally compared with a control site of no abattoir activities (ABPc) as well as WHO and FEPA standard set limits. The soil temperature which was carried out in-situ gave an average value of 30.00C. Alternative lignocellulosic substrates to produce high value-added products such as biofuel have been attractive. A Box-Behnken design was used to evaluate the effects of three parameters namely L/S ratio (50_100 mL/g), cellulase concentration (10_60 U/g) and incubation time (4_44h), on the enzymatic hydrolysis yield of physically pretreated Peganum harmala leaves. The fitted mathematical model allowed us to plot response surfaces as well as isoresponse curves and to determine optimal saccharification conditions. Statistical results indicated that the hydrolysis time and the enzyme concentration were the main factors influencing the release of reducing sugars. The selected optimal saccharification conditions were:........

Heavy oil Flow in the form of foamy oil under solution gas drive is widely observed in many Canadian reservoirs. Despite the importance of such phenomenon, complexity involved in foamy oil flow in porous media is not well understood. Series of numerical simulations were performed to model experiments that were carried out in a two meter long Sand pack to investigate the conditions required to increase oil production under solution gas drive mechanism. Through these experiments the solution gas drive performance at different depletion rates were analyzed. Creation of foamy heavy oil is thought to be responsible for higher recovery factors compared to what is expected from the conventional solution gas drive theory...........

This paper describes that Cloud computing relies on sharing of resources to achieve coherence and economies of scale, similar to a utility over a network. At the foundation of cloud computing is the broader concept of converged infrastructure and shared services. Cloud resources are usually not only shared by multiple users but are also dynamically reallocated per demand. With cloud computing, multiple users can access a single server to retrieve and update their data without purchasing licenses for different applications. Cloud computing involves deploying groups of remote servers and software networks that allow centralized data storage and online access to computer services or resources. ...........

Software weaknesses in design, architecture, code and deployment have led to software vulnerability exploited by the perpetrators. Although counter measure tools have been developed such as patch management systems, firewalls and antivirus, but the perpetrators have advance sophisticated tools such malware with crypto-lock and crypto-wall technologies. The current counter measures technologies are based on detection and respond model or risk management framework, which are no match to the attacker's technologies based on speed technologies such as machine generated malwares and precision or stealth technologies such as command-and-control node malwares............

High performance concrete (HPC) is developed gradually over the last 15 years with respect to production of concrete with higher and higher strength. To enhance the properties such as durability, strength, workability, economy has increased due to the usage of mineral admixtures in making high performance concrete. The scope of the present study is to investigate the effect of mineral admixtures and by-products towards the performance of HPC. An effort has been made to concentrate on the mineral admixture of silica fume towards their pozzolanic reaction and industrial by-product of bottom ash and steel slag towards their hydration reaction can be contributed towards their strength and durability properties......

Keywords -HPC, strength, durability, silica fume, bottom ash, steel slag aggregate.

The purpose of this project is to develop a system for men to assess the emotional states with the help of pulsometry. The system design comprises the hardware realization of signal detection, data recording and analysis. In this project two signals were selected for the analysis – pulse wave and facial video. In pulse wave, the threshold level is constant in between the range of 70 to 100. With the help of DAQmx library of LabVIEW environment, the data was recorded in LabVIEW NI USB-6008 device, which in turn connected to the pulse wave sensor, has been implemented. Facial video image capture and video analysis can be done in LabVIEW environment......

Keywords -Heart Rate Variability, DAQ, LabVIEW, Facial Video, Pulse Signal, NI USB 6008.
