Ovocalyxin-32 (OCX-32) is a matrix protein found within the outer layers of the eggshell. Numerous reports in the literature have identified association between variants in the gene encoding this protein OCX-32 and various eggshell quality traits. Thus, OCX-32 is a candidate gene for eggshell traits in commercial poultry populations. Sequencing of exon 1 and 2 of the OCX-32 gene in six Nigerian chicken populations revealed 2 SNPs. Two polymorphic sites (-162T and T229G) were identified in broiler (a commercial line) and Abuja populations respectively. However, SNPs T229G present in exon 2 caused an amino acid change indicating that the polymorphic sites identified in the ABJ population probably represent a small fraction of a more common polymorphic site found in the chicken populations.........

Nozzle flowmeter is a differential pressure generating device for measuring flow. It can measure the flow of various fluids in the pipeline with various differential pressure gauges or differential pressure transmitters. Because of its small pressure loss, it can save energy and is more durable. It is suitable for high temperature and high pressure fluid. It is widely used in the steam flow measurement of electric power, chemical industry and other industries. In this study, through the numerical calculation and analysis of nozzle flowmeter parameters and the determination of appropriate model, the working performance of nozzle flowmeter is preliminarily estimated and the digital structure design is carried out. The results of this study will provide a good basis for further study of nozzle flowmeter

In the 1960s, the 3D-based design from the aviation and automotive industries has now fundamentally changed the construction industry too. Model-based processes open up new opportunities in both design and decision support: engineers have been able to do various spatial tests and simulations. However, our buildings (whether they are residential or public buildings) are typically cannot be interpreted without the conditions – the urban fabric – next to them, the modelling of which often places a considerable burden on architects. Given that GRAPHISOFT ArchiCAD is the most frequently used design software among architects in Hungary, present research aimes to explore and evaluate 3D modeling methods that allow the fast creation of city models in ArchiCAD software environment.........

This research dwells on the construction and performance evaluation of mixed-mode solar dryer for Tomato Slices at Kano University of Science and Technology, Wudil. A mixed-mode solar dryer utilizes direct solar radiation from the sun as well as inputs heat from the solar collector inlet which is directly connected to the dryers and at the same time the drying cabinet absorbs solar energy directly through the transparent glass. The results obtained during the test period revealed that the temperature inside all the dryers was much higher than the ambient temperature during most hours of the day-light. However, the temperature risen up inside the drying cabinet was up to 63.1°C with one inlet and also 68.8°C with two inlets occurred within the hour immediately after 12.00 noon. The capacity of the dryer is 0.2kg of products per tray while the inlet temperature is identified to play a crucial role in the solar dryer performance.

This study was to evaluate the permissible exposure limit (PEL) of heavy metals and the antimicrobial efficacies of four hand sanitizers, in disinfection of bacterial contamination in Air Force Institute of Technology, during the pandemic of Corona virus disease-2019 (COVID-19). The products tested were that of Air Force Institute of Technology-AFIT, with other brands identified as sample A, B, C, and D respectively. AFIT sanitizer is an alcohol-based hand sanitizer certified by Standard Organization of Nigeria (SON). Sample A, B, C, and D; are alcohol-based hand sanitizers are products certified by Nigerian Agency for Food and Drug Administration Control (NAFDAC), which are commercial brands of hand sanitizers sold in the market. Sample A product was found to be more effective in reducing bacterial load when compared to sample C and D products. All samples had a bacteriostatic effect to E.coli. Sample B, C and D sanitizers were shown to have more presence of cadmium (Cd), while sample A, B and D had presence of Lead (Pb), sample C alone had the presence of copper (Cu), which are all toxic to the human body. The community showed more interest to antimicrobial efficacy and skin compatibility as a reasonable number were irritated by the scent..

The unique optical and electrical properties of indium tin oxide (ITO) films have been regarded as one of the prominent transparent and conducting oxides (TCO) films used as contact layer in several optoelectronic applications. ITO films optoelectronics properties were studied using a computer simulation method with respect to thickness. Developed mathematical models of ITO films optical and electrical properties were used to determine the trend features of the films with respect to thickness and wavelength. Improvement in optical transmission was observed as the films thickness decreases with film of low thickness exhibiting a maximum transmission of 91 % in the visible region. Electrical property improved with increasing thickness. Low electrical resistivity of 7.4 Ω-cm was obtained by film with small sheet resistance (10 Ω/sq). The remarkable features of the results suggest that the developed models are significant for understanding the trend features of ITO films optoelectronic properties.

Paper Title :: Software Testing On the Cloud
Author Name :: Abubakar Bello Bada || Atiku Abubakar
Page Number :: 34-40
:: 10.9790/1813-1001013440

Software testing is one of the five main activities in software engineering life cycle and has always been a major challenge for many software projects. Testing software requires enormous resources; this is due to increasing technological complexities, rising cost and security issues. Over time software testing has undergone a long drawn evolution cycle, from ad-hoc practices it evolved to centralised managed test centre approach and then to creating a test centre of excellence within the organisation. The recent stage in software testing evolution is brought about by cloud computing technology. Cloud computing has caused a shift in the provision and use of computing services; away from the traditional desktop form to online services. It has impacted several research fields, including software testing, by providing ready-made computing services to save time and cost. As applications are becoming more complex, it is imperative to look at Testing as a Service solution which is cost-effective and is becoming a popular model for software testing. Cloud computing technology provides more effective, robust and scalable software testing techniques as a service through Testing as a Service model (TaaS).

A young man and his old uncle have a discussion about Quantum Mechanics. In a first part, the main scientific events in the domain, at the dawn of the 20th century, are recalled. Then the consequences of these main discoveries are examined, from the point of view of the necessary changes in our former thinking habits, based on "traditional" physics and associated interpretations. The growing place taken by modern physics, due to its contribution to the progress of technologies is acknowledged. A significant example of impact of quantum physics on our daily life is given, which is the most recent evolution of the International System of Units. In appendix, a more detailed technical description about this example is given, concerning the domain of electrical metrology.

Vietnam is located between the two rings of "Ring of Fire around the Pacific" and "Belt of Alpes-Himalaya". With only average heat flow 50-80 mW/m2, there is a number of points coinciding with the fault zone which have reached over 100 mW/m2, including the northern provinces of Vietnam. The temperature deep under the reservoirs are determined by the geochemical thermometer method, which reaches from 1360C to 1700C. These geothermal sources could allow the construction of geothermal power plants with a capacity of 4.2 MWe to 17.4 MWe. However, geothermal energy sources are still at the survey and potential evaluation stage. Currently, Vietnam's geothermal source is still limited to direct use, geothermal power generation has never been considered. Therefore, we will carry out research and propose suitable technologies to produce geothermal electricity for geothermal reservoirs in the northern provinces.

Information System Security is critical to all modern computer users (individuals and organizations). To insure that information remain secure, many organizations implemented various security structure to protect IS security from malicious incidents by establishing security procedures, processes, policies and information system security organization structures. However, despite of all the measures, information security is still a catastrophe. Poor understanding of information security key factor seem to be the main problem. The difference in ICT infrastructure and implementations as well as usage results into different security problems in different organizations. Its eminent that common problem which challenge information security system to all organizations are identified and analysed. Through literature synthesis, this paper discuss common factors affecting the security of information system to modern computer users, which include organizations and individuals. Therefore, helping in saving time and money by focusing the limited resources on elements that really distress IS security.
