The study of land use and land cover changes is vital for the management of natural resource. In this paper, land cover change detection analyses were carried out to quantify the spatial distribution of land cover types in Tarkwa with respect to elevation. Multi-Temporal Landsat images of 1991 and 2008 were analyzed and the interpretation of the Landsat images indicated five land cover/land use classes. The results show that dense vegetation, sparse vegetation and shrubs were generally confined to lower elevation between 150 m and 200 m above MSL. Built lands were found on high elevation between 200 m and 300 m whiles most bare lands were found on elevation between 150 m and 200 m. Built and bare lands appears to be increasing steadily by 25% whiles dense vegetation, sparse vegetation and shrubs where found to be decreasing by 17%, 5% and 28% respectively. The results were verified by ground-truth survey at selected points within the study area.

The two-piece multi pattern reinforced clay roof tile production machine was conceived, designed and developed to enhance entrepreneurial integration and involvement of Nigerian/ African youth in achieving the desired sustainable development. The machine is cheap to fabricate, assemble, and easy maintain. A total manufacturing cost of N48977:50k could help an entrepreneur, focused on inclusive and integrated development to produce 115 roof tiles (360x280x10mm size) in 8hours of an average man working at normal pace; thus, yielding about 345 roof tiles in 24hours shift. This particular machine therefore can accommodate four sets of the two – piece pattern where 460 roof tiles produced in 8-hour average man working at normal pace; and 1380 roof tiles in 24 hours shift. It has been ascertained also that about 10 roof tiles can cover 1m2 of roof area, and successfully covering 138 square meters in just one-day production; under 25seconds of vibration for semi dry compaction.

Online users frequently post comments in their social network profiles; these comments leave unique traces of attributes such as keywords, interests of an entity and its related connection especially in micro blogs such as twitter. The keywords updated day in day out in the user profile, build an enormous amount of data which if analyzed can define user's specific topic of interest. The dynamism of this huge, noisy and ever increasing micro-blogging data and the need to discover trending topics from this data, has led researchers to approach this problem by using several techniques such as text mining, natural language processing, statistical and other topic modeling methods...........

The analysis of propagation model in urban terrains is essential owing to the fact that the surroundings is composed of diverse material obstructions. These models are functional planning tools that allow the network planner of wireless communication networks to realize optimal levels for the base station exploitation and meeting the anticipated service level requirements. In this work, five experimental broadcast models- FSPL, EGLI, ECC, COST 231 and ERICSSON Model are considered for pathloss performance investigation in the urban area of Yenagoa. A drive test was conducted to acquire the actual field data on the LTE with a frequency of 700MHz network deployed in the area under study. All forecast calculations were carried out in the TEMS Investigation and Discovery network planning tool. Ericsson model was found to best predict the environment with a minimum deviation of 10.11dB being closest to measured pathloss with 2.01dB compared to the other models.

When a gas is cooled to very low temperatures, it is possible to achieve a regime where its behavior ceases to be classical. In this way, the traditional view we have of a gas as consisting of particles of a disordered motion is no longer maintained. If the gas particles are of the boson type, the state reached in the regime of ultra-low temperature, culminates in the formation of a new phase called Bose-Einstein Condensation (BEC). This name was chosen due to the fact that this state was initially predicted by Albert Einstein in 1925 using for this the theoretical bases contained in the work of the scientist Nath Bose. This theory was largely responsible for the choice of Nobel awards in the years 2001 and 2012; and despite this, Bose was never awarded or duly recognized for his work.

Application of models to study of the hydrological function of watersheds has become a priority for countries wishing to conserve and protect their water resources. This need becomes essential for countries suffering from water stress such as Morocco where sustainable and predictable management is essential. It requires an indepth knowledge of the variables influencing the functioning of the basins, particularly the land use and their basin characteristics for a correct implementation of the management model. In this study, the SWAT model is used to simulate the monthly inflow at the Kansera Dam for the period 2001-2010, including one year (2001) for the warm-up of the model. 2011-2014 constituted the validation period of the model..............

Are some construction projects more prone to contract disputes than others? If so, can these projects be identified before construction begins? Prevention and Resolution Task Force to answer these questions. This research analyzed the effect of different project characteristics on the occurrence of contract disputes explained by different researchers. Conflicts may be considered in three levels; level one may be viewed as intrapersonal conflict that is the conflict that takes place inside the individual. Level two is interpersonal conflict the conflict experienced between individuals in the same group or unit for example coworkers, roommates, unit members and etc. Such clashes exist whenever individuals interact or come composed to finish a common goal or detached. This paper explains all work carried out by different researchers on conflicts in construction industry.

Structural masonry is an optimized construction system in which the masonry itself has a structural function. Another feature of the system is the use of concrete blocks and modular ceramic blocks in order to streamline the construction process, reduce material and labour costs, and generate greater speed in execution. For all these reasons, structural masonry has been widely used in the Brazilian civil construction industry, encompassing buildings of all finishing standards. Thus, short deadlines and reduced costs are the laws that guide today's construction projects. To meet these important requirements, new techniques are being deployed and improved. This paper will address a development in structural masonry based on a residential construction profile showing how a construction system can have both positive and negative impacts on a job in relation to costs and deadlines. Beyond presenting the main concepts of this construction method, this paper also includes a case study showing how this method could be implemented and the main issues that arise at a construction site due to bad service and/or poor inspection.

Study of one dimensional unsteady heat transfer in a rectangular slab with a finite length along x-direction and unit thickness along y-direction consists of development of Heisler's chart. Temperature of the slab increases due to convection heat transfer at the boundary and internal heat generation. The 1-D heat conduction equation is solved by the method of separation of variables by assuming initial fixed uniform temperature and axisymmetric boundary conditions. The eigen value of the equation is determined from the non-linear equation which is solved by the method of bisection. Heisler's chart is redeveloped for centerline temperature profile and temperature distribution at different x/L values for various Fourier numbers and Biot numbers without considering the internal heat generation...............

Empowering woman is a perquisite for creating a good nation, when women are empowered, society with stability is assured. Empowerment of women is essential as their value systems lead to the development of a good family, good society and ultimately a good nation. In a male dominated society, women have always been underestimated and discriminated in all spheres of life be it their family and social life or their economic and political life. Moreover, the traditional duties of managing households create hindrances in their social and economic empowerment. While there is no consensus about its definition, empowerment broadly construed refers to the process of enhancing the capacity of individuals or groups to make choicesand totransform those choices..............

Entrepreneurship education is geared towards making individuals creators and managers of businesses however, in Nigeria this objective has remained unattainable due to poor implementation in universities. Successful implementation of entrepreneurship education has been linked to the educator's level of understanding and interpretation of the five dimensions of Entrepreneurship Education (24). Thus, there is the need to understand how entrepreneurship educators communicate their understanding of the five dimensions in the effective implementation of EE in Nigeria. This paper reports a study that tries to understand how entrepreneurship lecturers training Engineers spontaneously communicate their understanding of the dimensions as indicators of their perceptions of who they are, their roles, their institutions, and students..............

Chitin and chitosan are renewable natural biopolymers having extensive applications in food and many other industries due to their low toxicity, biocompatibility, biodegradability, etc. The main industrial raw material for chitin production is waste from seafood industries that consist of exoskeleton remains of crustaceans. Isolation of chitin from prawn shells involved demineralization, deproteinization and purification processes. Chitin was converted to chitosan through deacetylation using 45% NaOH by different physical treatments; steeping at ambient temperature, thermal heating and microwave radiation. Chitosan produced from chitin was characterized using FTIR analysis...........

Cloud detection is the prerequisite for multi-spectral satellite cloud image analysis. The traditional cloud detection method cannot well characterize multispectral satellite cloud images, which leads to a low accuracy in cloud detection. Although deep convolutional neural network can extract features effectively, it will have problems such as gradient diffusion low training efficiency, hard optimization, and poor generalization. In order to solve these problems, a multidimensional densely connected convolutional neural network is proposed to realize cloud detection of multi-spectral satellite imagery...............

With the increase in water demand for various purposes, the output of the reservoirs is a valuable resource. However, a natural phenomenon such as sedimentation, which cannot be eliminated completely, decreases this output. Not only do the sediments decrease the reservoir capacity, but also destroy the machinery such as turbines, etc. Various methods have been brought forth to scour the sediments from the base of the reservoir but not many of them are feasible enough to be applied. Out of all the available methods, sluicing may be considered as an efficient method. Although sluicing may also cause disastrous effects on the downstream side if not carefully monitored, however the disadvantage is less as compared to the conventional flushing. The perennial availability of a minimum head in sluicing not only makes the process fit for reservoir conservation but keeps the power output steady..............
